Mask distribution will take place at Renton Community Center (1715 Maple Valley Hwy) from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursdays. Residents are asked to drive to the building’s main entrance and each vehicle will receive two (2) five-mask packets. There will be no proof of residence required and we ask that you only pass through once. Members of the city’s recreation and neighborhoods and human services divisions will distribute the masks.

Renton seniors picking up lunches at the Renton Senior Activity Center as part of the senior lunch program will also receive masks.

The masks will help Renton residents comply with the governor’s order mandating the wearing of masks across the state which took effect on June 26. King County has had a similar mandate in place since May 18.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Public Health – Seattle and King County have emphasized wearing face coverings helps stop the spread of the virus. The experts also recommend frequent hand washing and maintaining a social distance of at least six feet from individuals who are not members of your household.

The city received the masks from King County. Any masks remaining at the end of the month will be distributed to non-profit organizations in Renton.
