Celebrate the season and support Renton’s local businesses with our Shop Small program starting November 30, 2024! When you shop at participating small businesses and make a purchase of $5 or more, you'll receive a FREE DIY holiday ornament kit. Create your own holiday masterpiece while giving back to our community!
How It Works:
- Shop Local: Spend $5 or more at any participating small business.
- Receive Your Ornament Kit: With your purchase, take home a festive DIY ornament kit.
- Join the Crafter Circle Events: Bring your ornament kits and join us for community crafting at the Pavilion Event Center on November 30, and at the December Art Lounge at the Black River Cultural Arts Center on December 18, from 4 pm to 7 pm.

Kick off the holiday season in Renton with a day of festive fun, shopping, and family-friendly activities! We’re teaming up with local arts organizations, including Free2Luv, Allied Arts of Renton, KCLS, Impact Public Schools, IKEA, and more, to provide a welcoming space to relax, recharge, and enjoy free family activities. After exploring the Holiday Farmers Market and unique downtown shops, make your way to the annual tree lighting ceremony to share in the magic of the season!
Event Highlights:
- Shop Local: Get a head start on holiday shopping with special sales and promotions from small businesses across Renton.
- Holiday Farmers Market: Open from 12 - 4 p.m., featuring local vendors and seasonal treats.
- Free Arts Activities: Family-friendly arts & craft activities from 12 - 5 p.m.
- Tree Lighting Ceremony: Gather for the annual tree lighting at 5 p.m.
- Meet Santa: Snap your own holiday photos with Santa from 5 - 7 p.m.

The Renton Municipal Arts Commission is excited to announce the opening of the 2025 Art Grant Program! This initiative invites individuals, organizations, and community groups to apply for funding aimed at enriching Renton's cultural landscape. The grants support diverse arts and culture projects and events that are accessible to the entire community, with a special emphasis on fostering innovative initiatives that bridge cultural gaps, particularly for underserved groups.
Applications are evaluated on a quarterly basis and must be submitted electronically by 4:30 p.m. on the specified deadline to be eligible for consideration. There are four opportunities to apply for project funding in 2025: October 18, 2024; February 7, 2025; April 18, 2025; and July 18, 2025. Grants have typically ranged from $500 to $10,000, with projects expected to occur in 2025 and completed by December 15, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to thoroughly review the Grant Guidelines before submitting their proposals.
