Domestic violence is not just physical violence. It is a pattern of controlling, abusive behavior - emotional, sexual, or physical - but a pattern that can be prevented and stopped. It can happen to anyone.
The Renton Police Department has a Domestic Violence Victim Advocate to provide assistance to victims who live within Renton's city limits.
If there is immediate danger, call 9-1-1.
The advocate can provide the victim(s) with:
- Safety planning and problem solving
- Domestic violence prevention and education
- Protection orders
- Emergency short-term hotel shelter
- Food and clothing
- Transportation
- Interpreter services
The Domestic Violence Victim Advocate is available Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the second floor of City Hall.
