Wash Dot logoThe Interstate 405/State Route 167 Interchange Direct Connector Project is building a flyover ramp connecting the High Occupancy Toll Lanes on SR 167 to the High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes on I-405. The finished ramp will help to reduce congestion and minimize weaving issues at this interchange.

Weekend Closures planned

As part of the project, crews will repave northbound I-405 between the SR 167 interchange and SR 515/Talbot Road South. In order to repave this section of roadway, crews will close the two left lanes of northbound I-405 for a 54-hour weekend.

During the following weekend, crews will install a new fish-passable culvert at Rolling Hills Creek. The installation schedule is designed to minimize driver impact with traffic diverted around the work zone, requiring minimal weekend around the clock closures. However, in order to install the western half of the culvert, crews will close southbound SR 167 for one full weekend.

Performing this work in two separate weekends provides increased safety for construction crews and drivers. Paving during an around-the-clock 54-hour weekend closure helps to ensure higher quality outcomes when compared to work performed during the short work windows provided by nightly closures adjacent to live traffic.

August 24 to August 27 Closure
