Councilmember James Alberson, Jr. unanimously elected to Renton Regional Fire Authority Governance Board
Fellow Renton City Councilmembers voted during their Monday, Nov. 7 meeting
RENTON, WA – Renton City Councilmember James Alberson, Jr. was unanimously elected by his fellow council members to a three-year term on the Renton Regional Fire Authority (RFA) Governance Board. The vote took place during the regularly scheduled Nov. 7 council meeting.
Councilmember Alberson’s term will begin in January 2023.
The six-person governance board comprises three (3) council members and three (3) Fire District 25 Commissioners. There is also one non-voting member representing King County Fire District 40, which contracts for services from the RFA. The board is responsible for approving the annual RFA budget.
Mr. Alberson is in his first term on the Renton City Council, winning election in 2021. He is a 25-year resident of Renton and served eight years on the Renton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, in addition to chairing the board for three years. Before being elected to the city council, he served as a planning commissioner for the city for two years.
He also serves on the Puget Sound Regional Council Executive Board, South County Area Transportation Board, Eastside Transportation Partnership, King County Parks and Trails Coalition, and Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.
