Kennydale Beach Park features 1.8 sunny, sandy acres along Lake Washington, with a swimming beach and play equipment.  A pier and log boom define the swimming area and a canoe and kayak launch area is designated south of the pier.

Public Works - Kennydale Lakeline Sewer System Improvement Project is in the region of Kennydale Beach Park. Design and Construction phases will take place 2024-2026.

New Playground Equipment

Drawing of proposed playground equipment at Kennydale Beach Park

For ages 2-12 we have a variety of slides, climbers, and rope bridges. Ground-level components consist of a storefront panel, steppers, a balance beam, and sand diggers. A new fabric shade covers the 2–5-year-old play structure, and a stand-alone shade structure expands the amount of sheltered space for sand play or gatherings. The old swings could not be retained due to the new safety requirements.

No Dogs, Please

For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, dogs are NOT allowed at Kennydale Beach Park and Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park.  Violators may be subject to citations and fines. At all other city parks, dogs are allowed on 6-foot leashes, or visit the Cedar River Dog Park at 1500 Houser Way S, where they can run free.

Tommy the Turtle

Tommy the Turtle is now located at Kennydale Beach Park!

Tommy first came to Renton in the 1960s, he was a fixture outside the Newberry’s and Sears stores and was enjoyed by many children. He later lived outside the Renton Highlands Public Library. A new generation of Rentonites can now enjoy Tommy in his new home at Kennydale Beach Park. Tommy is installed near the existing play area and overlooks Lake Washington.
