The Lake to Sound (L2S) Trail is a joint partnership between the cities of SeaTac, Renton, Tukwila, Burien, and Des Moines in coordination with King County. The 17-mile L2S Trail will provide east-west connections between the shoreline of Lake Washington (in Renton) to the shoreline of Puget Sound (in Des Moines).
Planning for the entire system is completed and many segments have already been constructed.
A Federal grant was awarded in the amount of $800,125 for design and environmental documentation work of segments A (Renton to Tukwila) and B (SeaTac to Burien). The segment A portion is estimated to be $300,000.
Preliminary engineering was done in 2011.
Design and engineering work is funded but the construction is lacking funding.
