NE Sunset Boulevard Corridor Improvements

The N.E. Sunset Boulevard corridor has a strong potential for growth in transit usage and is experiencing residential and retail growth.

This project will develop a list of improvements to traffic operations:

  • re-striping lanes (channelization improvements)
  • traffic signal modifications
  • signal treatments
  • possibly queue jumps.

It will also develop opportunities for improving the safety and circulation of pedestrians, bicycles, and buses. The project limits are from North Park Drive to Monroe Avenue NE.

Engineering and design work began in Spring 2015.

The $300,000 is allocated for planning efforts and is currently funded.

Another $26.2 million is anticipated for engineering design and construction work. This amount is unfunded.
