The Adaptive Recreation Program is pleased to provide a variety of inclusive recreational opportunities as well as adaptive programs for persons with disabilities. Our program provides an opportunity to participate in group leisure and recreational activities in the least restrictive environment possible. We welcome and encourage youth and adults with special needs to register for all programs offered, not just the programs listed on this page.Click to open PDF

Join Our Special Olympics Team!

Special Olympics strives to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people. Many of the Adaptive Recreation sports we offer here in Renton will be in line with what Special Olympics is doing that season.

To be eligible to participate in official Special Olympics Tournaments all athletes must complete an Application For Participation (AFP) packet that includes a physical clearance from a medical professional and are valid for 3 years.

To ensure eligibility, it is recommended to have this form completed and submitted to Steven Kurtz by email or dropping off in-person at the Renton Community Center (1715 Maple Valley HWY) before your next sport season begins!
