The city hosts Cruz the Loop Saturday from 5-9 p.m. downtown.
A six block area stretching from Wells Avenue S west to Shattuck Avenue S. and from S. Second Street south to S. Third Street S will be closed to traffic from approximately 4 to 9 p.m.
Registered vehicles will re-create the route made popular in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. The route starts in the parking area at 200 Mill Street, heads west on S. Second Street, left on Shattuck Avenue, right on S. Third Avenue and left on Wells Avenue So. Cruising will take place from 6 to 9 p.m.
Even if you're not a cruiser, come on down to Piazza Park and enjoy the festivities. "Cruz" will feature live rock-n-roll music, a beer garden, wing eating contest, and yard games.
