Construction of the Kennydale Reservoir presents an opportunity for a public art mural on this painted steel tank. The City of Renton has selected a muralist, Artistbrothers, to work with the community and the Renton Municipal Arts Commission on this public art piece.
Artistbrothers has created three initial artistic mural concepts. The community is invited to provide feedback on these concepts through January 31 and in person at the Kennydale Neighborhood Association meeting on January 28.
After community input is collected, Artistbrothers will refine two design concepts and present them to the Renton Municipal Arts Commission for their review and recommendations.
The City of Renton Community and Economic Development Administrator will make a final decision on the public art application. To learn more about the process, visit the Renton Municipal Arts Commission website. The commission typically meets at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at city hall.
Construction of the Kennydale Reservoir is expected to be complete in spring 2020, after which the tank is scheduled to be painted.
