The City of Renton's Transportation Systems division plans, designs, constructs, operates, and maintains a transportation system that:

- Enhances environmental quality
- Is compatible with local and regional mobility goals and development objectives
The Transportation Systems Division includes four work groups:
- Transportation Planning and Programming
- Transportation Design and Construction
- Transportation Operations
- Transportation Maintenance
