Councilmember Ed Prince unanimously elected to Renton Regional Fire Authority Governance Board
Fellow Renton City Councilmembers voted during their Monday, December 9 meeting
RENTON, WA (JANUARY 2, 2025) – Renton City Councilmember Ed Prince was unanimously elected by his fellow councilmembers to a three-year term on the Renton Regional Fire Authority (RFA) Governance Board.
The vote took place during the December 9 council meeting. Councilmember Prince’s term will begin in January 2025. The six-person governance board includes three (3) councilmembers and three (3) Fire District 25 Commissioners. One non-voting member also represents King County Fire District 40, which contracts for services from the RFA. The board is responsible for approving the annual RFA budget. Joining Councilmember Prince on the board include Council President James Alberson, Jr. and Councilmember Ryan McIrvin.
Councilmember Prince is serving his fourth term on the Renton City Council and recently served as council president for 2024. Prince is the Executive Director of the Washington State Commission on African American Affairs and previously worked for the Washington State House of Representatives.
He currently serves as a member of the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Board of Directors, in addition to being a member of the Sound Transit Board of Directors, member of the King County Regional Homeless Authority Governing Board, and Chair of the Growth Management Policy Board (GMPB).
