Project Description

Highlands to Landing Pedestrian Connection (Phase 1) project provided pedestrian connectivity between the Highlands Urban Center (Renton Highlands) and the Downtown North Urban Center (The Landing/Coulon Park). I-405 separated the connectivity between these areas, and no pedestrian facilities existed along N Southport Drive west of I-405 to Garden Avenue N/Lake Washington Boulevard N. New sidewalk, curb and gutter, and landscaping was added to the north side of N Southport Drive/NE Sunset Boulevard. This project was conceived by the Highlands Task Force Committee that included residents, businesses, and elected officials from the Renton Highlands.

Highlands to Landing Pedestrian Lighting Phase II project will provide pedestrian lighting and miscellaneous improvements to complete the pedestrian connectivity.

Highlands to Landing Pedestrian Lighting Phase II project is funded by city funds and Local Revitalization Financing program.

On January 24, 2022, Renton City Council awarded the construction contract in the amount of $330,490.83 to Colvico, Inc.
