Status Update

Crews will clearing blackberries and trimming the plant material from just east of Maplewood Roadside Park out to the intersection of 131st Ave SE. The trail will remain open during the project with cones in place to help guide trail traffic through the area. The work is expected to last 3 to 5 days.

The beautiful Cedar River Trail stretches for 4.5 miles from Lake Washington eastward through downtown Renton to Maple Valley. This 24-acre park contains picnic areas that are close to the water, play equipment, and a non-motorized boat launch.

The Cedar River Boathouse is within walking distance of the park and provides kayak and canoe rentals, as well as instruction. There are spectacular views of Lake Washington and of aircraft taking off from Renton Municipal Airport. It is also the perfect spot for viewing birds of all species year-round, including Blue Herons and Bald Eagles.
