The Project

Project graphicStarting in 2020, the City of Renton’s Transportation Systems Division began a partnership with King County Metro to improve transportation options. The goal is to attract more riders by improving access to facilities and increasing service speed and reliability.

One of the areas identified for improvement is the intersection of Puget Drive SE and Royal Hills Dr. SE. This project will install a mini roundabout with curbing, guideposts, and paint to help vehicles operate safely through the intersection. The project also includes ADA-compliant ramps, painted crosswalks, and a rapid, rectangular flashing beacon.

Navigating Mini Roundabouts

Construction is anticipated to begin this summer, depending on the weather. During construction, you may experience some traffic delays. We appreciate your patience and cooperation and ask that you please plan accordingly.

Once the contractor begins work, please drive safely and obey flaggers.
