Lake Youngs Ct SE Storm & Water Improvement Project

The Lake Youngs Ct SE Storm & Water Improvement Project will resolve the stormwater drainage and ponding issues at the top of the cul-de-sac. 

Please note that street parking will not be allowed during construction working hours due to the maneuverability constraints along the cul-de-sac.

Contract Award Information

The Public Works Department has reviewed the bids that were submitted for Lake Youngs Ct SE Storm & Water Improvement Project. The bids were publicly opened and read on June 10, 2019, shortly after 2:30 p.m. in Conference Room 511 by the City Clerk. There were a total of six bids received.

The low bidder was Oceanside Construction, Inc. with a bid of $501,986.60. The engineers estimate is $520,802.50.

Council award the bid to Oceanside Construction, Inc. at its regular meeting on June 17, 2019.

Project Description

The project involves installing new 12-inch stormwater collection pipelines along Lake Youngs Ct SE that will collect surface water and connect existing stormwater pipes from residents to the new system.

A new 8-inch water main, water meters, and fire hydrants will be installed to replace the existing system. After the new pipeline is installed, the existing asphalt will be patched and the sidewalk and driveways that were impacted by the construction will be rebuilt.

Project Update

This project is substantially complete.  The contractor is working on punch list items.
