Cruz the Loop 2017 rack cardThe famous Renton Loop returns for one day as the city presents Cruz the Loop. It's an afternoon music, food, and family fun capped by cars cruising the famous Renton Loop.

“The Loop” was the place to see and be seen in Renton in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. It was Facebook before computers. It was Instagram before digital cameras; Twitter, only face-to-face.

The first part of the afternoon activities takes place from 12 to 4 p.m. at Renton High School. It’ll be a chance to relive the old days with entertainment by British Export, a Beatles tribute band, and Big Dog Revue, playing the classics. Listen to the music as you stroll among the cars enjoying a meal from on-site food trucks. There will also be family-friendly activities. There is no charge for the pre-cruz entertainment.

From 4 to 5 p.m. registered cars will leave the high school recreating The Loop: west on 2nd Avenue, left on Shattuck, left on Third Avenue, left on Wells Street, and left on Second, back to the high school. Just like in the old days.

So reserve your place now as the number of available cruz spots is limited and pre-registration (details below) is required. What’s optional are Poodle skirts, saddle shoes, white t-shirts and cuffed jeans.
