City of Renton launches Renton Responds mobile app

Application allows easy submission and tracking of non-emergency issues

RENTON, WA – The City of Renton is excited to announce the launch of Renton Responds, an application that streamlines the submission process for non-emergency issues via mobile devices and computers.

Now when Renton residents see something amiss, for example, graffiti, traffic signal malfunction, overgrown vegetation, potholes, or abandoned vehicles, they can file a report via a few simple clicks on their mobile device. The report is then sent directly to the appropriate city department.

Renton Responds uses a photo to determine location and then asks a few questions for clarification. Submitters are then given the option of creating an account or submitting as either a guest or anonymously. Account creation enables the submitter to receive status updates. The application will not accept issues that are outside the Renton City Limits and will alert if a similar issue near the location has been submitted.

Renton Responds integrates seamlessly into existing service requests software used by the city. This reduces the need for staff to input information from online forms and allows for more effective response time and tracking of issues.

The application has been available since Sept. 12 and the city has already received over 40 submissions covering a variety of topics. Users have praised the app’s layout, ease of use and the city’s quick response time.

Renton Responds is available for free in the app stores for both Apple and Android devices. More information can be found online.
