Preparedness

In a major disaster, existing resources can be quickly overwhelmed. Regular emergency responders such as fire, police, and public works might not be able to reach everyone who needs help for up to two weeks.

You need to be ready to take care of yourself and your household. Relying on family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors can help ensure that our community is prepared for and resilient to disasters. There are simple steps you can take that go a long way to helping your household be prepared for emergencies.

You don’t have to spend a lot of time or money to get prepared.
