TRAIL Updates
FOR YOUR SAFETY please follow directions on all posted signage.
The Cedar River Trail is narrowed to one lane next to riverbank erosion that occurred following the Cedar River flood event in February, between the Dog Park and Riverview Park. Bicyclists yield to pedestrians and USE EXTREME CAUTION in this area. City staff are working to secure a plan for repairs to re-open the trail as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.
'Healthy WA - Roadmap to Recovery' Phase 1: In both parks and on trails, YOU ARE REQUIRED to follow recommended COVID-19 protocols for social distancing, GATHERINGS of 10 people or less, limit 2 households, face coverings and proper hand washing.
PICNIC SHELTERS are not currently available to rent due to COVID-19.
Riverview Park encompasses 11-acres and was acquired in 1979 with Community Development Block Grant funds. It is now a vital part of the city's Cedar River Greenway System.
The Cedar River Greenway encompasses over 550 acres of developed and undeveloped parks, open space, trails, and the Maplewood Golf Course along the Cedar River.
A picnic shelter is nestled between the bank of the Cedar River and the Cedar River Trail. The shelter and park are accessed from the parking lot by crossing the new bridge over the Cedar River. A restroom is on-site, and the shelter has two barbecues.
