Application Process & Eligibility Criteria
Complete the Online Application: Fill out the application form.
Application Deadline: Submit your application by March 3, 2025.
How are participants selected?
The academy is highly competitive. Applicants must submit a paragraph explaining why they want to attend the academy.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- Attendance: Commit to attending at least 7 out of 8 classes.
- Background Check: For security purposes, all applicants are required to pass a background check. Individuals with a felony conviction or recent misdemeanor conviction may not qualify for participation.
Priority:
Preference is given to applicants who live or work in Renton.
Acceptance Process:
Only applicants who receive a confirmation of acceptance will be eligible to attend the academy. There are 30 spots available.
If your application is not accepted but you meet the criteria, you will be placed on a waitlist for future openings.
