City of Renton Parks and Trails Division has thirty-three beautiful parks covering 1,254 acres of land and 13 miles of trails. Unique locations include the salmon-bearing Cedar River, the Skate Park at Liberty Park and a boat launch facility at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park. However you like to be active and be outside, we have a place for you!

Renton History Museum

Located in an historic Art Deco firehouse, the Renton History Museum offers changing exhibits, programs, publications, research opportunities, and events to share Renton’s stories, past and present.

There are six trails extending 13 miles and the first TRACK Trail in Washington at Cedar River Trail Park, 1060 Nishiwaki Lane

 

Urban Forestry

The Urban Forestry Program maintains the city's urban forest and is a great resource for Renton residents.

Public and private trees comprise Renton's urban forest, adding to the quality of life. In Renton, public trees include those found along street right of ways, in parks, natural areas, and at other city-owned properties.

Dogs and Renton Parks

  • Dogs are not allowed at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park or Kennydale Beach Park
  • Cedar River Dog Park, 1500 Houser Way S is an off-leash park, located along the Cedar River Trail, a short walk from Cedar River Park
  • All other parks allow dogs on 6 foot leashes
  • Pet owners, please obey the "Scoop Your Poop" rule 

Updates

  • Cedar River Dog Park - Access to Cedar River Dog Park, 1500 Houser Way S will be from Cedar River Park using the pedestrian bridge to cross the Cedar River. WSDOT is storing materials under the I-405 bridge for its freeway-widening project. Follow directions on posted signs and traffic flaggers.   • Springbrook Trail Boardwalk - Closed due to damage at the SW 27th St. entrance. Follow all posted signage until the structure is repaired.
  • Cedar River Trail - Narrows to one lane between the Cedar River Dog Park and Riverview Park.  Bicyclists yield to pedestrians and use extreme caution in this area.  Plans are in the works to repair trail.
