There are many places to shop and dine in Renton. From destination shopping like the Northwest's first IKEA, the only Fry's Electronics in the state, and the Renton Auto Mall to boutique shops and the Antiques District downtown, Renton can keep shoppers busy all day. There is also a wide array of restaurants in the City that are sure to please all tastes and satisfy even the heartiest appetites, from national chain restaurants to terrific local choices.
Downtown has some of the best dining choices in Renton. The Red House has an extensive selection of foods, wines, and tapas presented in a sophisticated, casual atmosphere. The Melrose Grill is a great neighborhood steakhouse with exceptional service.
When shopping for a new or used car, Renton is the place to come. Many of the dealerships are located close to each other, making comparison-shopping very convenient. Renton new car dealers include:
North Renton is home to Fry's Electronics store and The Landing. Fry's is a 150,000 square foot electronics super-store. The Landing is a 46-acre urban village style shopping center located just off the I-405 freeway at the south end of Lake Washington. The Landing includes 600,000 square feet of national and local retail stores, a 14-screen stadium seating Regal Cinema, and great restaurants and cafes. The Landing is fast becoming a gathering place for people from throughout the region.
Ezell's now serves its famous fried chicken and delicious sides, plus deserts like sweet potato pie and peach cobbler on NE 4th Street. Nearby, Shawn and Ted's Quality Meat Market offers the finest meat products and sells only all-natural beef, pork and chicken. The shop also sells hickory-smoke sausage, Canadian bacon, chicken, and turkey breast smoked in their own smokehouse. Top of the Hill Quality Produce shares the building with Shawn and Ted and is the place to get farm-fresh produce and fruits. The Viet Wah grocery store and retail shop located in the Greater Hi-Lands shopping center is a great place to get treasures and foods from afar. The Tea Palace Asian Restaurant and Banquet is the largest fine Asian cuisine banquet restaurant in the Pacific Northwest with Dim Sum served daily for lunch and space available for banquets of up to 800 persons.
Southwest Renton is home to the first owner-operated IKEA constructed in North America. IKEA is the perfect place to furnish your entire home, from essential items like couches and beds to accessories like throw pillows and kitchenware. Inside IKEA is a restaurant that serves delicious Swedish meatballs and other Nordic dishes. Center Cycle has been selling great bicycles, equipment, and clothing in Renton since 1974.
