City of Renton Arterial Traffic Impacts

Week of August 3, 2017  

Note:   All projects are weather permitting and unless otherwise noted streets will always remain open. 

Road Closure

Beginning on Tuesday Aug 8th through Aug. 10, at 8:30 am thru 11:30 am.
Lane closures due to paving downhill onto SW Victoria, between Hardie Ave SW and Rainier Ave S.  This will be a 3 hour road closure for crew safety and will be opened to traffic once the paving is done by 11:30, the patched area will remain coned off to allow asphalt cooling and should be completely opened to traffic at 3:00 pm, each day of the work.

South 2nd and Main Avenue South
Monday, August 7th through Sunday, August 13th.
Lane closures due to road construction for the 2nd and Main Capital Improvement Project. An approved traffic control plan has been issued and will be followed. Questions can be directed to Keith Wooley, 425-430-7318, or Mark Wetherbee, 206-999-1829.

Harrington Avenue NE and Glenwood Avenue NE
Monday, August 7th through Friday, September 29th (2017).
Full road closure on Harrington between Sunset Lane NE and Harrington Avenue NE as well as a full road closure on Harrington Avenue NE between NE 10th Street and Sunset Lane NE will be in place as part of the Sunset Lane Capital Improvement Project. Park Avenue North, Garden Avenue North, North 3rd Street, and North 4th Street
Monday, August 7th through August 2018, 8:30 am to 4:45 pm.
Additional construction traffic due to the construction of Sartori Elementary School at the 300 block of Park Avenue North and Garden Avenue North. Questions may be directed to Patrick DeCaro, 425-207-6013.

S 14th Street
Monday, August 7th through Sunday, August 13th.
Road Closure on South 14th Street between Smithers Avenue S through Davis Avenue S for utility construction. Approved traffic control plans have been issued for all work and will be followed. Questions may be directed to Patrick DeCaro, 425-207-6013.

Union Avenue NE
Monday, August 7th through Friday, August 11th, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Northbound lane closure on Union Avenue NE near NE 27th Place due to utility construction. Approved traffic control plans have been issued for all work and will be followed. Questions may be directed to Brad Stocco, 425-282-2373.

NE 4th Street
Monday, August 7th through Friday, August 11th, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Intermittent lane closures with localized overnight lane diversion at the 4800 Block of NE 4th Street due to removal and restoration of concrete panels. An approved traffic control plan has been issued and will be followed. Questions can be directed to Todd Freih at 206-999-1832.

Talbot Road South
Monday, August 7th through Friday, August 11th, 10:00 pm to 4:30 am.
Talbot Road S between northbound I-405 on-ramp to the southbound I-405 off-ramp will be fully closed each night for I-405 Direct Connector Project. Questions may be directed to Rohini Nair, 206-999-1822.

Monday, August 7th through Friday, August 11th, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The northbound Talbot Road S between northbound I-405 on-ramp to the southbound I-405 off-ramp will be closed for I-405 Direct Connector Project. Questions may be directed to Rohini Nair, 206-999-1822.

East Valley Highway
Monday, August 7th through Friday, August 11th, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Single lane closure of Eastbound and Westbound SE 180th Street between northbound SR 167 on-ramp to the East Valley Road due to roadway construction. Questions may be directed to Rohini Nair, 206-999-1822.

SR 169
Thursday, August 10th through Saturday, August 12th.
WSDOT maintenance crews will be working along with City maintenance crews on SR-169 (Maple Valley Highway) at night. Questions may be directed to Justin Johnson, 425-430-7291.

Rainier Avenue South
Tuesday, August 15th, 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.
Possible lane closures on Rainier Avenue at South 2nd Street for utility construction. Approved traffic control plans have been issued for all work and will be followed. Questions may be directed to Pat Miller, 206-794-6162.

Monday, July 31 through approximately Friday, October 6, 2017: WSDOT will be repaving and installing sidewalk upgrades along a portion of Maple Valley Highway (SR 169) between 140th Avenue SE (MP 22.86) and Cedar River Park (MP 24.84). Construction will occur during daytime and nighttime hours.


MAPLE VALLEY HIGHWAY PROJECT 

Monday, July 10 through approximately Friday, October 6, 2017: WSDOT will be repaving and installing sidewalk upgrades along a portion of Maple Valley Highway (SR 169) between 140th Avenue SE (MP 22.86) and Blaine Drive Vic (MP 24.84).  Construction will occur during daytime and nighttime hours and will result in a reduction of lanes as outlined below:

Daytime closures (up to 1 lane at a time in either the westbound or eastbound direction, not concurrently):

  • Westbound – Lane closure permitted between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Eastbound – Lane closure permitted between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Nighttime closures (up to 2 lanes will be permitted in either the westbound and/or eastbound direction:

  • Westbound – Lane closures permitted between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday through Friday.
  • Westbound – Lane closures permitted between 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.
  • Eastbound – Lane closures permitted between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday through Friday.
  • Eastbound – Lane closures permitted between 10 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.

City of Kent

Tuesday, July 10 through approximately Friday, September 1, 2017:  The City of Kent will be conducting a pavement rehabilitation project along 80th Avenue South between South 194th Street and South 190th Street.  This project is near the City of Renton border.
