Citizens are invited to give input to the city’s coordinated disaster response plan
RENTON - Do you know how the City of Renton will respond after a disaster? Would that response meet your needs? The city invites you to give input and become involved with the process.
On Tuesday, March 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the City Council Chambers on the 7th floor of City Hall, the city will host an open house to gather input from the public to formulate the city’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP).
The CEMP serves as the guide to ensure the city uses a coordinated effort for both response and recovery during and after a disaster. It details the steps that need to be followed and designates who is responsible for the execution. Every department within the city has a role in the CEMP, as do members of the community.
If you cannot attend the open house and still wish to give input and/or review the plan, we invite you to visit Renton’s CEMP webpage. On this page you can read the current CEMP and give your input by completing a simple survey.
The City of Renton is committed to an inclusive, transparent process for revising the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and we ask that you share this information with individuals, businesses, community organizations and anyone else who is part of the Renton community.
If you have any questions, please contact Mindi Mattson, Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Renton, at 425-430-7727 or email@example.com.
