Landslide closes all westbound lanes of Maple Valley Highway at Cedar Park Drive

City Public Works crew estimate 3 to 5 hours before highway is re-opened
RENTON, WA - A landslide has closed all westbound lanes of the Maple Valley Highway (SR 169) into Renton at Cedar River Park Drive, near the Henry Moses Aquatics Center. One eastbound lane of the highway is open to traffic.
Westbound traffic is being stopped at 140th and detoured to alternate routes. Any vehicles in the area between 140th and the slide area are being detoured via 140th.
City of Renton Public Works crews are on scene removing debris. It is estimated the work will take 3 to 5 hours.
Earlier this morning there was a landslide on Lake Washington Boulevard between the entrances to Gene Coulon Memorial Park. City crews completed the clean-up by 8 a.m. and are monitoring the situation.
