On the evening of January 24, 2015, Renton Police responded to a 911 call from a home in the 4100 block of Wells Avenue North, in Renton’s Kennydale neighborhood. On arrival, they discovered that the elderly couple who lived there had been brutally beaten in the course of a home invasion robbery. A K9 track and extensive search by patrol officers did not locate the suspect.

The 86 year old victim and his 74 year old wife both suffered extensive injuries, including a skull fracture and serious blunt force trauma. Both survived after extended hospitalization, and continue to recover.

Evidence collected by a Washington State Patrol Crime Scene Response Team led Renton Detectives to a suspect, a 49 year old convicted felon from Spokane. On April 14, 2015, Detectives interviewed and arrested the suspect; he was booked into the Spokane County Jail pending transfer back to King County.

Renton Police would like to thank all of the concerned citizens who provided information in this case, as well as the WSP Crime Lab and other assisting Law Enforcement Agencies.
