Mayor Declares September 27 Day of Concern for the Hungry

Donations Support Salvation Army Renton Rotary Food Bank and the Emergency Feeding Program

RENTON: Mayor Law has joined other mayors throughout King County declaring Saturday, September 27, as the 22nd Annual Mayor’s Day of Concern for the Hungry. Food donated on this day will substantially reduce the growing crisis of hunger in our community.

Please plan to shop at one of the participating stores listed below on September 27 and make a donation. Donations will go to the Salvation Army Renton Rotary Food Bank and the Emergency Feeding program. Volunteers will be available at participating stores with the list of the most needed food items. Cash donations are also accepted.

Volunteers will be at the following Renton stores Saturday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

  • Fred Meyer, Benson Center, 17801 108th Ave SE
  • Fred Meyer, Renton Center, 365 Renton Center Way SW
  • Safeway, Downtown Renton, 200 S. 3rd Street
  • Safeway, Renton Highlands East, 4300 NE 4th
  • Safeway, Renton Highlands, 2725 NE Sunset Blvd.
  • Safeway, Fairwood, 14060 SE Petrovitsky Rd.
  • QFC, Renton Highlands, 4800 NE 4th
  • Albertsons, 4621 NE Sunset Blvd
  • Sam’s Club, 901 S. Grady Way
