RENTON: Renton Municipal Arts Commission (RMAC) has released the names of recipients of this year’s grants. The grant program helps local groups fulfill their goals for developing and supporting arts and culture in Renton. The grants are made possible by a grant provided to RMAC by 4Culture. 4Culture is the cultural services agency for King County, Washington and supports citizens and groups who preserve our shared heritage, and create arts and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors.

A grant review committee assessed the proposals based on meeting RMAC goals. The total amount awarded was $11,000. Grantees include Allied Arts of Renton, Arts Unlimited, Renton River Days, Renton Film Frenzy, Renton Farmers Market, Renton Civic Theater, Renton Annual Art Show, Rainier Chorale, City Soil, and Evil Slave LLC.

Renton Municipal Arts Commission was formed by Resolution 1320, on August 9, 1965. Overseeing an annual budget, the commission is charged with the responsibility of acting in an advisory capacity to city government in connection with the artistic and cultural development of the city.
