RENTON - The city’s annual Arbor Day and Earth Day celebration is on Saturday, April 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., where we honor our commitment to the environment. Renton has been recognized as a Tree City USA since 2008 and promotes the planting and care of trees which is one of the most effective ways to protect the environment through reducing soil erosion, producing oxygen and improving wildlife and fish habitats. Join our celebration at the Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park, located at 1201 Lake Washington Blvd. Each year Arbor Day/Earth Day is celebrated to promote the planting and care of trees. Celebrating Arbor Day and Earth Day together by planting trees is one of the most effective ways to protect the environment.

“I encourage all citizens to join in this celebration to promote nature’s well-being for this and future generations,” said Mayor Denis Law. “The Arbor Day and Earth Day event is an opportunity to bring the community together for the good of the environment.”
