Abandoned cars that impede safety operations will be towed
Garbage and Recycling Update

RENTON: With severe winter weather conditions in the forecast, abandoned vehicles that interfere with sanding truck operations create dangerous road conditions. The city’s Public Works crews are asking the public for their help to remove abandoned and/or damaged vehicles from roadways as soon as possible in order to better assist them and reduce the risk for other drivers. Cars that impede sanding trucks that are applying sand, chemicals, and providing other snow removal measures will be towed.

More snow and cold temperatures are likely tonight and into tomorrow according to forecasters, so drivers again are reminded to drive only when necessary and to be prepared with a full tank of gas and emergency supplies.

All garbage, recycling and yard/food waste have been collected in the city today. For the upcoming week, if your carts are not collected on your regularly scheduled collection day, please follow the guidelines below.

Yard/Food Waste: Yard/food waste will be collected on your next regularly scheduled collection day the week of January 23.

Garbage and Recycling: If your garbage and recycling collection is missed due to the weather on either January 19, or January 20, your collection day will be one day later than the normal collection day. For example, Wednesday garbage and recycling customers will receive Thursday service and Thursday customers will receive service on Friday.
