Flags and Banners Welcome Seahawks Fans for second annual Bing Training Camp

RENTON – The city is going all out to welcome the second annual Seahawks Training Camp to Renton. The City of Renton is proclaiming Friday, July 30, to be Seahawks Spirit Day and the “12” flag will fly high above Renton City Hall and several other public facilities. Over 20,000 fans are expected to attend the Bing Training Camp that begins on July 31 in Renton.

icon_Seahawks_Cheer-2010Throughout the city “Renton Welcomes Seahawks Fans” banners will proudly tout their fan spirit, and local businesses, organizations and fans will display “Go Seahawks - Training Camp 2010” cheer cards. Fans can download cheer cards from the city’s website at  The Renton Reporter will also distribute over 31,000 cheer cards in their July 30 edition. Everyone is being asked to wear blue and green colors and put on their “12” buttons on Friday, July 30, to show their support. Businesses are also encouraged to use their own reader boards to celebrate Seahawks Training Camp 2010 in Renton.

“This is a really exciting time to be in Renton and I encourage fans to spread the Seahawks Spirit throughout the city,” said Renton Mayor Denis Law. “While here enjoying training camp, we hope Seahawks fans will enjoy all that Renton has to offer–great shopping, wonderful restaurants, parks and recreation activities.”

The second annual training camp at the spectacular Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC), the Seattle Seahawks’ headquarters and training facility in Renton, starts on July 31 and includes fifteen practices through August 16. The Renton Community Marketing Campaign is taking advantage of the opportunity of the large volume of visitors coming to Renton by promoting opportunities to shop, dine, stay and play in Renton.  The Seahawks’ website,, features information for visitors coming to Renton.  Every visitor to training camp will receive a “Shop Renton, Buy Ahead of the Curve” discount card called the “CurveCard,” which can be used at over 200 participating businesses for special offers and discounts.
