Free lunches for children ages 1 to 18 at 13 locations throughout Renton

RENTON:  This summer the City of Renton and the Renton School District are working together to provide free lunches to children ages 1 to 18 at 13 locations throughout the city, including five local parks and other neighborhood sites.  This program will be offered from June 23 to August 28, with eight community partners helping to serve the lunches.

Renton city park locations providing the free summer lunch program every Monday through Friday at 11 a.m., from June 23 to August 14, include:

  • Kennydale Lions Park, 2428 Aberdeen Avenue N.E.;
  • Kiwanis Park, 815 Union Avenue N.E.;
  • Philip Arnold Park, 720 Jones Avenue S.;
  • Thomas Teasdale Park, 601 S. 23rd Street; and
  • Tiffany Park, 1902 Lake Youngs Way S.E.

For information about the other community locations visit humanservices.rentonwa.gov or call 425-430-6650.

The summer feeding program was established to ensure that children in lower-income areas continue to receive nutritious meals during long school vacations, when they do not have access to school meal programs.  The program is open to the public, and there is no registration or proof of income or residence required.  The lunches must be eaten on-site.
