City of Renton Seeks Candidates for Planning Commission

RENTON—The City of Renton is seeking candidates for two positions on the Planning Commission. These members will be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council to serve a three-year term. Members serve without compensation and must reside inside the city limits of Renton.

The nine-member Renton Planning Commission reviews staff proposals, holds public hearings, and submits recommendations to the City Council on amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, subarea plans, the Shoreline Master Program, and area-wide re-zonings and zoning text amendments.

The Commission meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at Renton City Hall, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA. 

To apply for Commission membership, please complete an application. Call 425-430-6575 for an application or download one from the Boards and Commissions web page at rentonwa.gov. Applications are also available at Renton City Hall, 7th Floor Mayor’s Office. To be considered for appointment to the commission, applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on April 21, 2008.
