Conversation Practice for English Language Learners

RENTON -- The Renton Public Library will host a new series of Talk Time sessions for people in the community who are learning to speak English.  These free sessions will be held Wednesday evenings, 6:30-8:00 p.m., beginning January 9 and continuing through February 27 at the downtown library, 100 Mill Avenue South.

Talk Times are small group meetings intended to give adults the opportunity to practice speaking English in a fun and friendly setting.  Conversations will be led by facilitators Steve and Lynn Colwell, and everyone who attends will have the opportunity to participate.  The sessions are intended for adults only, and any level of English speaking ability is welcome.

“One of the most difficult things about learning to speak another language is finding opportunities to practice in casual conversation,” said Library Director Bette Anderson.  “We are offering these Talk Time sessions to the many adults in our community who are learning English as a second language.”
