Transportation Planning and Programming Section

The City of Renton Transportation Systems Division has several sub-groups that work together, but each has specific tasks, assignments, and duties they're responsible for.  One of these sub-groups, or sections, is Transportation Planning and Programming.

Led by Jim Seitz, 425-430-7245, this group develops plans and preliminary designs for transportation system improvements and programs.  Staff within this section also coordinate with state and regional agencies (including transportation departments and transit agencies) on transportation issues.  This group coordinates the development of the Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)  and secures funding for projects and programs.  Transportation Planning staff review project applications and proposed annexation areas for transportation needs.  This group is also responsible for amending the Renton Comprehensive Plan's Transportation Element.
