Traffic Safety Program – 2012-2017 TIP #23

Description – This program provides for special small-scale traffic safety improvements that are identified and require materials, labor or equipment beyond the normal scope of City operations and maintenance crews.  This program includes providing materials for railroad crossing upgrades and converting school zone signs to electronic operation.

Historically, a number of smaller traffic improvements are required throughout the year.  Projects are typically identified through citizens' concerns, analysis of accident records or observation by Traffic Operations or Maintenance personnel, and then prioritized. 

Schedule – This is an ongoing, yearly program.

Project budget – $527,000 is programmed for 2012-2017.  $24,000 remains unfunded currently.
