Outdoor Burning

There is no outdoor burning allowed in the City of Renton and King County District #25 and #40, which contract for services with Renton Fire & Emergency Services Department. In 2000, Puget Sound Air Pollution instigated this ban for all cities along the I-5 Corridor.

The City of Renton provides recycling bins for outdoor waste. Any limbs should be cut into four foot lengths or shorter and bundled with natural twine or cotton string. Bundles should be no more than four feet in length and two feet in diameter. Any overflow material can be placed in a city approved container or Kraft paper bags, available at local hardware and lawn and garden stores.

If you live outside the City limits, you can contact your County Fire District to check on its restrictions:

King County Fire District #20 - 206.772.1430
