Cedar River Boathouse

Boathouse1060 North Riverside Drive

425-430-0111

The Boathouse, built on pilings over Lake Washington, is located at the north end of the Cedar River Trail at 1060 Nishiwaki Lane. The Boathouse facility is Boeing's former hydrofoil development building, which the company donated to the City of Renton.

Cascade Canoe & Kayak Centers, Inc.,  in operation since 1997, opened the Cedar River Boathouse in March of 2001. According to company President Dan Henderson, the Boathouse is a great example of local government and local business working together. "The City owns the waterfront facility, and we work with the City to bring in the recreation opportunities, programming, and expertise related to canoe and kayak sports," says Henderson. Cascade Canoe & Kayak offers hourly and daily canoe and kayak rentals, a youth racing program, classes for all levels of skill in sea and river kayaking, lake and river canoeing, team building, and conditioning and a variety of guided sea and river kayak trips, canoe trips, and whitewater trips. The cost of these activities varies.  Rental rates are affordable with consecutive hours at lower rates. The public is welcome to drop by, but reservations are recommended on sunny weekend days.
