Join us for a free film series that reveals the hidden impact of everyday products: who really pays for the food, clothes and plastic products we purchase and at what cost? Plus, participate in reuse and share efforts through our DIY and SWAP activities.


2017 Eco Film Series--Plastic Bag Film
Sept 21, Plastic Waste
6:00 pm: Upcycle Your T-shirt into a Reusable Bag. Bring your own used T-shirt and donate T-shirts for others who may not be able to bring one.
7:15 pm:“Being Hear” shares insights on how nature communicates and the alarming extinction of places unaffected by human activity.
“Plastic Bag,” a short film voiced by Werner Herzog, traces the epic, existential journey of a plastic bag searching for its lost maker.
“The Smog of the Sea” chronicles the journey of a marine scientist, musician Jack Johnson and a crew of citizen scientists seeking the truth about the “garbage patch.”


2017 Eco Film Series--True Cost Film
Oct 19, Textile Waste
6:00 pm: Drop off gently used winter hats, scarves and gloves for the Swap Winter Accessories Party (SWAP).
6:15 pm: “The True Cost”  (PG-13) is an eye opening film on the story behind the clothes we wear, the people who make them and the impact of the clothing industry on our world.
8:00 pm: SWAP winter accessories you no longer want for new-to-you pieces!


2017 Eco Film Series--Wastecooking Film
Nov 16, Food Waste
6:00 pm: “Wastecooking – Make Food, Not Waste” takes you on a road trip through Europe, where the only thing on the menu is what some call garbage.
7:30 pm: Chef Thierry Rautureau of Seattle’s Loulay and Luc restaurants will share his tips and tricks in reducing food waste.
