Duvall Avenue NE Pavement Preservation – NE 4th Street to NE 10th Street

Project Description – Duvall Avenue NE, classified as a principal arterial, has four lanes of traffic with left-turn lanes at some intersections. Duvall Avenue NE is an alternate route to I-405, connecting Renton to Newcastle, and Bellevue. 

The project will resurface Duvall Avenue NE from NE 4th Street to NE 10th Street, extending the life of pavement by 12 to 15 years.  The project will also include safety improvements, such as median islands and radar feedback speed signs.

Project Schedule Update – Construction began week of July 25, 2016. <Full Schedule>

Day-time work: UPDATE: all work was substantially completed as of October 7, 2016.

Night-time work:  all night work was completed as of September 7, 2016.  

Project Budget – The City was awarded a $1,237,000 Surface Transportation Program (STP) grant for design and construction for this project.  The estimated total project cost is $2.1 million.


The City of Renton hereby gives public notice that it is the Agency’s policy to assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and related statutes and regulations in all programs and activities. Title VI requires that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any Federal Aid Highway program or other activity for which the City of Renton receives federal financial assistance.

Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI has a right to file a formal complaint with the City of Renton. Any such complaint must be in writing and filed with the City of Renton Title VI Coordinator within one hundred, eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged discriminatory occurrence.
