Mini-Grants

Neighborhood Program Mini-Grant (Up to $500)

The Neighborhood Programs Grant funding opportunity is provided to improve a neighborhood’s quality of life, increase public safety, and any other small project that positively engages and reinvigorates the neighborhood.

Grant Ideas

  • Doing a neighborhood clean-up
  • Providing safety classes (Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), “Map Your Neighborhood”, First Aid or CPR classes)
  • Buying supplies for IKEA Renton River Days parade (for a float or props)
  • Financing a space to hold a neighborhood meeting   
  • Reinvigorating a neighborhood association  
  • Doing physical improvements  
  • Providing educational workshops and/or art projects
  • Holding a special event
  • Hosting a neighborhood "Screen on the Green" movie night
  • Compensating permits for events, activities or workshops (when applicable) 

  Note:  Food products and/or alcohol are not eligible for funding.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the 2017 Neighborhood Mini-Grant, your neighborhood will need to have:

  • Registered as an "officially recognized" Renton neighborhood located within the City limits     
  • Participating in the City's Neighborhood Program
  • Have submitted an updated copy of your neighborhood bylaws
  • Have submitted an updated contact registry of your neighborhood leadership
  • Have submitted an updated boundary map of your neighborhood

To become registered as an "officially recognized" Renton neighborhood please fill out the following application and submit it to neighborhoodprogram@rentonwa.gov
