Special Event and Commercial Film/Photography Permits

Renton hosts a variety of special events annually.  Each event serves a unique role and adds to the spirit of our City; Community festivals, athletic, and cultural events provide opportunities for neighbors, artists, merchants, spectators, and participants to interact and celebrate the richness Renton has to offer.The City plays an important role in helping event planners bring people together safely and successfully in both city-wide and neighborhood events.

Do I need a Special Event Permit? 

A "special event" is defined as any activity including, but not limited to a fair, festival, concert, demonstration, rally, performance, show, parade, run/walk/cycle, or other publicly attended activity, entertainment or celebration which is held in whole or in part upon publicly owned property, streets, sidewalks, trails, parks, walkways or on other public rights-of-way, or if occurring on private property, will affect, impact or interfere with the standard, ordinary and normal use of public property by the general public within the vicinity of such event and/or requires the use of city services.
