Databases

The library subscribes to several online resources that can help in a job search.  

ReferenceUSA: It is a good idea to do a little research about an organization with which you are interviewing, and this database is a great place to find a summary of an organization's vital statistics. 

ProQuest: This resource contains a number of magazines and newspapers that can be searched easily to find recent news about an organization. 

Testing and Education Resrouce Center: TERC can be used to browse a library of employment seeking strategies and articles, from sample resumes and cover letters to interviewing and job searching. It also contains information about colleges and scholarships, vocational schools and programs, and preparation materials for educational and employment examinations.

Learning Express:  Similar to TERC above, this resource contains a variety of materials to help create resumes and cover letters and prepare for a job interview. It also has a number of test preparation tools to study for employment tests such as the civil service exams, ASVAB and CBEST, etc. or educational exams such as the SAT, GED, ACT and more.
