Recreation Division

The Recreation Division provides opportunities for the public to participate in diverse recreational programs and activities designed to meet the needs of all Renton area citizens. These programs include preschool, youth, teen, and adult leisure programs; youth, teen, and adult athletics; fitness and wellness programs; outdoor recreational opportunities; cultural arts programs, and programs designed to provide social and recreational opportunities to senior citizens and those with special needs. Check out the latest classes and activities offered by the Community Services Department in  "What's Happening..." Brochure Cover the Recreation brochure, or view the classes online via Cyber Sign-Up a fast, convenient, and efficient services that allows participants to access recreation programs, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  If you have registered for a class in the past six months, just use your family pin number and participant barcode to register online via a secure network connection. If you are not a current customer, and would like to receive a family PIN and participant barcode, please call the Renton Community Center at 425-430-6700. To register for a class in person, visit the Renton Community Center at 1715 SE Maple Valley Highway.  Registration hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Registrations not received during these hours will be processed the following day.

Residency Policy
You live within the Renton City limits and are a resident of Renton if you:

  • Have a four digit or less house number and a one or two digit street address. For example, 1234 SE 4th Street, Renton.
  • Have a four digit or less house number and a street name. For example, 1234 Main Avenue S., Renton.
  • Have a five digit house number and were annexed by the City of Renton after August 25, 2006.

Creative Kids Preschool

Morning and afternoon classes for both 3 and 4 year olds available. Registration begins February 24 for Renton residents and March 3 for non-residents. cost for 3 year old class is $100 for residents and $120 for non-residents. Cost for 4 year old class is $110 for residents and $132 for non-residents. For more information, call 425-430-6700.  

Got a Green Thumb?

Greenhouse  Gardening
Year-round temperature controlled gardening is available in our 70-degree greenhouse. Table spaces are 4’ X 3’. Gardeners are responsible to maintain and water their own space. All plants must be from seed starts. Limit is two spaces per household. Register for class #46370.  Cost is $30 for residents and $36 for non-residents.

Community Garden
Put that green thumb to work in your own 10’ X 40’ garden plot in Renton’s Community Garden. City of Renton staff prepare the soil. Water is provided. Mandatory meeting March 25 at 6:30 pm at the Renton Community Center. Limit of one plot per household. Register for class #46731. Cost is $30 for residents and $36 for non-residents.
