City of Renton Walkway Improvements Project - Jones Avenue NE

Description - This multi-phase project designs and builds 1,800 lineal feet of concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter along the east side of Jones Ave NE between NE 20th Street and NE 26th Place. Additionally, re-surfacing of the street will be completed in this area.
Jones Avenue NE is identified by the Renton School District as a school walk route for Kennydale Elementary School.

Schedule - The project went out to bid in August 2008 and the bid opening date was September 5th, 2008.
A public open house was held in June 2008 about this project. A press release was issued and homeowner's were mailed letters in advance of the meeting.
Construction will occur in three phases:
Phase one, re-surfacing of Jones Avenue NE between NE 26th Street and NE 28th Street.
Phase two, construction of sidewalks, has started. This phase will take 60 working days. NE 26th Street to NE 24th Street should be completed in December and NE 24th Street to NE 20th Street.
Phase three, re-surfacing of the pavement between NE 20th Street and NE 26th Street.
Project budget - 2008 Project Budget is $600,000. Of this amount, funding of survey and design is $152,056.63. Construction of the Jones Avenue NE project is expected to be about $429,000. The Overlay Program paid for the work done on Jones Avenue NE through Phase one.
