Get ready to look for those lost ducklings again!  In the month before River Days, play our exciting scavenger hunt through Renton.  You'll find delightfully decorated ducks in businesses and community institutions all over town.  This is a great activity for families looking to get a little exercise, solve clues, and see the city.  Whether you're new to the Duck Hunt or a veteran quack shot - this hunt is for you.  Learn more about this exciting, fun, interactive game at www.facebook.com/RentonRiverDays.

Renton Historical Museum

Tour the Renton History Museum during festival week from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Admission is free during festival week.  

Stop by the Renton History Museum booth in Liberty Park during the weekend, July 26-28.  Learn about the Museum’s programs and activities.

A special day for senior citizens on July 25 at the Renton Community Center, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The event will feature fabulous food and entertainment. Volkssports Fun Walks

Two different days to choose from!  On Thursday, July 25, Fun Walk registration from 9:00am - 11:00 with start location at Kennydale Memorial Hall, located at 2424 NE 27th St., Renton, WA.  Features include trail walks in May Creek and Honey Creek with special 1K, 2K, 3K, and 4K routes for children.  5K and 10K routes will explore Canyon Trails and local neighborhoods.  Group walk for a 10K starts at 9:30 am.  Fun Walks on July 25 also supported by Renton Trails Organization.

On Sunday, July 28, registration from 8:00am - 11:00am with start location at front of Renton Community Center, located at 1715 SE Maple Valley Highway.  Enjoy "Specquackular" walks along the Cedar River with an optional loop up Renton Hill for panoramic views of the city.  July 28 distances include 5K, 6K, 11K, and 16K.  Visit Interlaken Trailblazers or call 425-235-0528.

Moonlight Movie - "Finding Nemo" at Henry Moses Aquatics Center

Join the fun for a showing of "Finding Nemo" on the large screen, which will be viewable from the water at the Henry Moses Aquatics Center, located at Cedar River Park, just off Maple Valley Highway by the Renton Community Center.  Gates open at 8:00 pm; movie begins at 9:00 p.m.   Cost is $5 per person.

Wenatchee Youth Circus Performs at Cedar River Park

Circus Performances Co-Sponsored by   Walmart

Joining the line up of events and activities over festival weekend, the Wenatchee Youth Circus will host three performances at Cedar River Park (the park just east of I-405, by the Renton Community Center and Henry Moses Aquatics Center).   Easy access to Cedar River Park on foot from Liberty Park.  Tickets are $1/pp for children under 18, and $2/pp for adults 18 and over.  Tickets will be available for sale July 26 and July 27 in Liberty Park at the Festival Information Booth, and 30 minutes prior to each of the three show times at the Circus seating entrance in Cedar River Park.

Friday, July 26 - Sam Chastain Memorial Golf Tournament

Friday, July 26 through Sunday, July 28 - Nibble of Renton

Experience a variety of culinary delights from local restaurants and caterers at the 2013 Nibble of Renton in Liberty Park. This popular appetizing food fair will be open Friday, July 26, from 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 27, from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, July 28, from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.  Food vendors will feature Hawaiian, pizza, teriyaki, burgers, Indian tacos, nachos, chili dogs, bbq ribs, chowder, fish and chips, grilled salmon caesars, roasted corn, gyros, elephant ears, polish dogs and kielbasas, strawberry shortcake, smoothies, snow cones, ice cream, Italian sodas, and espresso to name just a few. Menu prices range from $5-$9.

This delicious breakfast event will be held on Saturday, July 27, from 7:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at the Renton Senior Activity Center. Menu will feature pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit cup, coffee, tea, and orange juice. Prices are $6/pp for adults and children over 12, and seniors over 60 and children under 12 are just $4/pp. Renton Lions Club volunteers will have a donation box for used eyeglasses and hearing aids for distribution to the less fortunate. Be sure to stop by this morning event before making your way to S. 3rd St. for the Parade at 10:00 a.m. Call 206-963-4917.

The 17th Annual Chalk Art Contest will be held this year on Saturday, July 27, on the Tennis Courts in Liberty Park. Registration begins at 12:00 p.m.  Awards for five categories: Artist, Ages 13-Adult, Junior 10-12, People's Choice and Best Theme presented at 3:30 p.m.  All participating children receive a prize.  Free participation and all materials provided. Spectators line S. 3rd St. from Shattuck Avenue to Liberty Park on July 27 at 10:00 a.m. Parade features the theme “specquackular!” and welcomes the annual return of Kent Phillips, of STAR 101.5 FM, as our Parade Announcer.  Participants are encouraged to create unique and nostalgic entries. Incorporating music is always a big hit with the crowds!

Volunteers are needed to assist with Parade morning set-up, staging, and monitoring intersections for safety.  Please call Tammy if you are interested in volunteering for the Parade.

SPECIAL NOTICE: Renton River Days has a budget to provide a modest contribution to local or visiting marching bands, or other parade entries with musicians or bands and help offset expenses. Marching bands and musicians captivate the crowds. Our Parade Committee would like more entries like this to consider.

33rd Annual BMW Seattle Concours d'Elegance & Heritage Picnic

Presented by  Puget Sound BMW Car Club

Sunday, July 28 - Rubber Ducky Derby

Sponsored by  Rotary Club of Renton
The last day of IKEA Renton River Days means it is time for the Rotary Club Rubber Ducky Derby! Thousands of little yellow ducks will wait at the Houser Way Bridge at 4:30 p.m., ready to jump into the water and race down the Cedar River. Purchasers of Rubber Ducky tickets will have a chance to support a local charity and win one of six valuable prizes at the same time. This much anticipated event benefits the Northwest Burn Foundation, the Salvation Army Renton Rotary Food Bank, Communities in Schools of Renton, and other deserving area nonprofits.

For each $5 ticket, supporters have a chance to win one of several great prizes:
1st Place: $1,000 Cash donated by Renton Rotarians
2nd Place: $750 Cash donated by Renton Coil Spring Co.
3rd Place: $500 Gift Card donated by IKEA
4th Place: $500 Gift Certificate from King & Bunny's Appliance
5th Place: $350 Gift Package from businesses at The Landing

Tickets are available at the Renton Rotary Exhibitor Booth in Liberty Park during festival weekend July 26 - 28.  Rotarians will also be selling tickets along the Parade route on South 3rd Street on Saturday, July 27.  Tickets are also available for sale at select businesses such as Banner Bank, Warren, Barber, & Fontes, Renton Coil and Spring Co. and from any Renton Rotary Club member.
