City of Renton Duvall Avenue NE Project - Infrastructure Improvements to Widen Lanes, Underground Utilities, and Safety Features
The Duvall Avenue N.E. project included widening Duvall Avenue N.E./Coal Creek Parkway S.E. to five lanes (including a center two-way left-turn lane for most of its length) from the N.E. Sunset Boulevard (SR900)/Duvall Avenue N.E. intersection to the S.E. 95th Way/Coal Creek Parkway S.E. intersection, and added curbs, gutters, sidewalks and bicycle lanes on both sides of Duvall Avenue N.E. Overhead power lines were relocated underground. The project budget is about $15 million and construction began in June 2008. The road was re-opened on July 2nd, 2009.
To complete the improvements, Duvall Avenue N.E./Coal Creek Parkway S.E. was closed to through traffic between Sunset Boulevard (SR 900) and S.E. 95th Way for about one year.
