Youth Sports

Youth Athletics is dedicated to:

  • Providing enjoyable recreation programs for children, regardless of athletic ability
  • Encouraging children to have fun, learn new skills, and feel good about participating in youth sports
  • Developing self-esteem and good sportsmanship through meaningful and fair sports competition
  • Providing quality coaches, facilities, and clearly defined standards

 Renton Rookies- Introductory Sports Classes

These sports classes are designed to teach the beginning athlete.  Each week a new skill will be introduced encouraging each participant to learn the basics.  Our goal is to strengthen self-esteem by introducing a fun, safe, non-competitive environment where children can feel good about participating in sport.  All classes are held at the Highlands Neighborhood Center. $35 Residents/$42 Non-Residents

Indoor Group Tennis Lessons- Ages 5 to 10

The City of Renton works in cooperation with Aces Tennis to provide a variety of programs year round! Join us indoors this winter at the Highlands Neighborhood Center on Sunday mornings. Grab your racquet and joins us inside! For information on specific programs, please call 425-235-9495 or visit ACES TENNIS. Are you interested in what's happening to the game of tennis?  USTA has developed programs to teach kids ages ten and under the game of tennis in an exciting format.  To find out more about the ten and under program, please check out the  Parent Information Manual.     

Spring Break Tennis Camps and Lessons are coming soon April 7-10!  

 UK Petite Soccer Clinics- 

Ages 3 to 5.  UK Petite soccer provides a basic introduction to soccer.  UK Petite uses a games based approach to teach children the FUNdamentals of soccer in a high energy, interactive learning environment. Each program runs for one hour, for six weeks.  Each participant will receive a UK Petite T-shirt and a certificate.  For more information and to register, visit ukpetite.com.
Additional programs will be offered in the spring including Elite Feet Soccer for ages 5 to 7 and ages 7 to 9.   

 Winter Class Information Ages 3 to 5:
Tuesdays, January 28-March 4 1:30-2:30 p.m.- Renton Community Center Indoor
Fridays, January 31-March 7 9:30-10:30 a.m.- Renton Community Center Indoor

Track and Field Ages 5-14

This program is about fun, participation and skill development.  This program runs in cooperation with Issaqauh, Auburn, and Snoqualmie.  Events include sprints, relays, softball throw and long jump.   A mandatory parent meeting kicks off the season on Tuesday, May 20 at Renton Memorial Stadium, 6:00 p.m. This program runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Meets will be held on Thursday evenings beginning in June at Renton Stadium and neighboring cities.   All practices are held at Renton Stadium. $50 Residents/$58 Non-Residents. 
Ages 5 to 8  6:00-7:00 p.m.  Course #52919
Ages 9 to 14 7:00-8:00 p.m.  Course #52920 

Spring Break Track Camp April 8-10 

Dust off your shoes and come run with us!  Boys and girls of all abilities are welcome to join. Participants will learn the basics of sprinting, jumping and throwing.  Take advantage of this opportunity to introduce your child to the joys of running.  This program runs from 9:00-10:30 a.m.  Fee $25 Residents/$30 Non Residents.
